PurePlaytm Indicies

Camino uses two methodologies for computing indices. For strategies with sufficient companies we use a Modified Market Capitalization Weighted methodology. We favor Market Cap Weighted indices because we think they better represent the business activity of a strategy. We modify the weightings to avoid excessive concentration in the larger stocks. This tends to bias the index toward smaller capitalization companies. Where we have a limited number of companies we use a equal weighted methodology which also tends to bias the index toward smaller capitalization companies.

We rebalance and reconstitute the indices quarterly due to the rapidly changing nature of the sector. The indices are calculated from daily closing prices and stated in USD. Since the companies included in the indices trade on exhanges outside the US, we perform currency translations using foreign exchange closing values as reported by MSN. These exchanges also have a variety of holiday schedules requiring the use of prior day closing values to enable computation of the indicies on all normal trading days.

The indices are PurePlay(tm) because we require (1) the company to generate over 50% of its revenue from the strategy to be included in an index. We also require the company to (2) have a total market capitalization (not float adjusted) of at least $150 million USD at the time of inclusion, (3) trade on a recognized exchange for a minimum of three months, and (4) have adequate trading volume for reasonable liquidity. Companies that are in bankruptcy or are publicly traded project finance vehicles are excluded. Camino may consider business stage, profitability, or other factors when including or removing companies from a tracking index. Stocks falling below $100 million USD market capitalization will generally be removed from an index.

Camino Energy may, at its discretion and at any time, change the companies in a sub-sector index. Changes may be motivated due to market capitalization, governance, profitability, or other events that would render the company not suitable for investment.
